I live in Cleburne, Texas, south of Fort Worth.  Because I have always found stained glass to be fascinating, I signed up for classes instructed by Master Stained Glass Artist Curtis Owen of Cleburne as a birthday gift to myself in March of 2003.  After just the first class I was hooked!  Nothing else has ever given me as much personal satisfaction as working with glass.

I enjoy every aspect of making the piece, from cutting the glass to polishing the finished product.  For me it is a form of therapy and a way to express myself all at the same time.  While equally inspired by the love of others for the many forms of art glass and by my own ambitions to be a recognized artist, I also am content to just make pieces that make me or others happy.  I enjoy trying new things just to see how they will turn out.  All of my pieces are signed with my initials and a small heart as my symbol of my maiden name, which was Hart.

I work equally well in foil and lead and have completed sun catchers, panels, and some 3D pieces.  I am currently working on my first lamp restoration.   I participate in local charity events such as the "Heads Up" project, (promoting awareness to the needs of brain cancer patients), and fundraisers for Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center whenever possible.

I recently acquired my first small kiln and have begun to experiment with firing and slumping, to make such items as candleholders, soap dishes, small bowls, and coasters.  Soon I will be developing my skills for making my own flame worked glass beads.  I hope to incorporate them into some of my other stained glass projects and possibly into jewelry pieces.

I have been a TGAA member since March of 2004.  I encourage anyone who has an interest in any of the many styles of glass art to come check out our meetings.  I am sure you will find that we are a diversified group of passionate artists who are all willing to share our knowledge and enthusiasm with others.

Occasionally I show my work at local art events, but feel free to contact me through my e-mail or phone number listed above if you have any questions or interests in any of my works.
